Falling for Cebu Day 02 (DIY GUIDE)

WHAT ZUP! It’s our Day Two on our Falls hopping plus Hiking here in the Queen City of the South, Cebu! We are giving you a hit from your target destination here in South Cebu specially the famous Kawasan Falls. We are still providing you a DIY GUIDE (Do it yourself) itinerary way to your favorite instagramable spot and your dream place.

As I said on my first day on South Cebu expedition its way better to explore on your own rather than joining a tour package and that’s show your passion and determination to see one of a kind experience with mother nature and that’s the true wonderer. LETS GO!

1. OSMEÑA PEAK

OSMEÑA PEAK is the Highest Peaks in Cebu and it was so majestic! The hike was also easy. Just 15-20minutes walk and you can already reach the peak. You can also rent bamboo walking sticks to help with your balancing. Best to go there just in time for the Sunrise or Sunset to capture intagramable/perfect photos to treasure the experience.

The view is breathtaking and you can see islands in the distant seas. Also, the hills have a resemblance to chocolate hills in Bohol. It can get windy at the top but don’t let that stop you from taking a moment and enjoying the views. I would definitely do this again!

How to get to:

From Cebu City

Go to the South Bus Terminal. Ride a bus to Oslob or Bato and ask to be dropped off at the Dalaguete junction. Travel time is roughly 2-3 hrs. Then hire a motorcycle (habal-habal) going to the jump off point to the peak or trek from the market in Mantalongon to the registration office.

Located: Brgy. Mantalongon, Dalaguete Cebu

Entrance/Environmental Fee: 30 php

Guide fee: There is no standard guide fee so its up to you how much you pay.

In fact, Mantalongon in Dalaguete is considered the ‘Little Baguio of Cebu’ with its cooler climate and vegetable fields along the way.

2.CAMBAIS FALLS

CAMBAIS FALLS (LEVEL 1) It is one of the most beautiful waterfall curtain in South Cebu and features three levels with five drops. Adrenaline junkies can also enjoy plunge pool of the falls. The first level of the of the falls has a pool where you can take a dip in after trekking to the place or cliff jump from about 10 meters high directly from the waterfall to its catch basin. The second level (we have no picture on the second waterfall) has height of around twenty five meters and this is an amazing little area that most people don’t visit so go see for yourself. The third level featured a small cavern behind the waterfall.

CAMBAIS FALLS (LEVEL 3)

How to get to:

From CebuCity

Go to South Bus Terminal. Ride bus bound for Alegria. Then get off to Alegria Park, hike motorcycle (habal habal) to Cambais Falls jump off point.

Guide fee: There is no standard guide fee so its up to you how much you pay. But if you have a personal guide (habal habal driver) he/she will be your guide to the waterfalls. The trek to the entrance of Cambais Falls is roughly 30 minutes. It is a totally flat path and really accessible for everyone.

3. CANCALANOG FALLS

The Cancalanog Falls is a sight to behold for our first time visitors. For its greenish blue of the waters. The water itself may not be as magnificent as other famous falls but the clear waters of this waterfall will be distinct to others and more than enough to compare.

The rock formation around the fall is quite interesting to its natural formation like canyoneering in Kawasan Falls to look at. Italso part of them Matutinao River system that leads to the famous Kawasan Falls.

How to get to:

Head to Cebu South Bus Terminal and take a bus to Sangi in Alegria then take a motorcycle ride (habal habal) for Cancalanog direction. From the jump off point you will walk for about 20 minutes to the waterfall.

Located: Alegria, Cebu

Entrance Fee: 50 php

4. KAWASAN FALLS

Kawasan Falls on Cebu Island have become an Intagramable hoyspot as its possible to swim in the stunning turquoise water. One of the most popular way to experience Kawasan falls is on a canyoonering tour which will take you on an adventure through the Filipino jungle before arriving at the main waterfalls. As one of the top sights on Cebu Island.

I have visited this waterfall a year ago and still love it! I just came back once more and this time the entire area is overly protected and abundant tourist enjoying the canyoneering activity. I am so happy seeing foreign and local experience the natural habitat but at the same time worrying on people not responsible on there trashes. Leave no trace just enjoy the trail.

How to get to:

From Cebu City

Go to the South Bus Terminal and hop on bus bound to Badian. This bus will head to Bato via Barili. Then drop off to Badian and walk 20 minutes and look for canyoonering tour package or visit the famous Kawasan Falls

Located:

Badian, South Cebu

Entrance Fee: 40 php for Foreigners / 20 php Local

Kawasan Falls Canyoonering fee: 1600 php per head (include Safety gear, Guide fee and Lunch meal)
